Awaab's Law changed what happens when triage gets it wrong. A misclassified damp report was always capable of being a breach. The repairing covenant under section 11 of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1985, the fitness for human habitation duty under the 2018 Act, and local authority hazard enforcement under Part 1 of the Housing Act 2004 all predate 2025 and all continue to apply.
